How do I use photoshop to convert a png file to a grd file for gradient use?

I am not sure about any direct conversion program for this However, you could re-create the gradient in under a minute by following these steps:
1 – Open the png gradient file
2 – Open the gradient editor.
3 – select the first colour stop, and use the eye dropper to click on the first, far left, colour of the gradient.
4) Select the last colour stop, and use the eye dropper to click on the far right colour of the gradient.
5) depending on the complexity of the gradient, you will need to add extra colour stops to the gradient and select the respective colour in the png gradient. Edit the colour stops to re-create the gradient.
6) repeat this process until done.
Depending on the gradient, it will take you less than a minute upward to a couple of minutes to create the same effect in Photoshop’s gradient editor. Save the gradients as a .grd file (make sure to get rid of the ones you do not wish to save in this file)
*EDIT*
Don’t forget about the opacity stops: you may have to set the opacity for certain colour stops in the gradient editor to 100%. Or less, depending on the transparency effect you’re after.
